On Ticketmaster, the official seller. The general sale opened on 10 August 2026, returned tickets went back on sale from 10 September and a new frisa phase opened on 28 October at 9 AM.
Each phase has limits per CPF, the Brazilian tax number: four grandstand tickets a day in the August phase, two in September, and one frisa per parade day. Liesa's service centre is at Rua da Alfândega 25, shops B and C, in Centro, and answers the phone on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM.
For visitors without a CPF, a package is the simple route. The operator supplies an official ticket and sends every step by email and WhatsApp after booking.

Sectors 2 to 11 line both sides of the avenue, with grandstands, frisas and camarotes in each. Sectors 12 and 13 sit by the Praça da Apoteose at the end.
The frisas sit in four rows, A to D, each 40 cm above the one in front, with row A at the edge of the avenue. The camarotes stand behind and above, from 12 places in sectors 3, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 11 to 30 in the super-camarotes. The grandstands rise behind them on concrete steps.
Even-numbered sectors face odd-numbered ones across the avenue. Sector 9 is sold as the seat near the drum section, and sectors 12 and 13 are at the end, near the Apoteose.

What is sector 9 at the Sambódromo?
A numbered grandstand sold through travel agencies for incoming tourists, so every seat is assigned. Half-price tickets do not apply there.
Liesa says sector 9 is sold through ABAV/RJ, the travel agents' association, for travel agencies and incoming tourism. You get a numbered seat instead of a spot on the steps, which matters on a night that lasts until dawn.
The sector 9 ticket is sold for every parade night, from the Série Ouro on 5 and 6 February to the Champions' Parade on 13 February, with a snack bag, from $130. Guests in one booking sit together. Transport is not included, and the ticket is non-refundable, so book it once your night is fixed. It has 25 reviews so far.

Is a Sambódromo ticket with transfer worth it?
For a first Carnival, yes. Getting there is easy. Getting back at 3 AM with the whole crowd is the hard part.
The ticket with transfer includes an official ticket in sector 3, 5 or 7, a ride from Copacabana, Ipanema or Leblon in an air-conditioned vehicle, and hourly rides back from midnight to 4 AM. The hosts speak English, Spanish and French and send Carnival tips before your night. Food and drinks are extra.
It is not suitable for children under 10 or for wheelchair users. It cancels free up to 24 hours before, and it has 13 reviews so far.

Students with a CIE card, people 60 and over, under-21s, people with disabilities, low-income young people and Rio public school teachers, all with Brazilian documents.
Half price applies in the grandstands and the individual chairs, not in sector 9, the frisas, the camarotes or the special boxes. Half-price tickets carry the holder's name and CPF and are checked at the gate, so in practice they work for residents of Brazil.
Children pay from age 5. In the grandstands they get half price when they come with a parent.
What can you bring into the Sambódromo?
Two 500 ml plastic bottles of water, juice, soda or beer, and two food items such as fruit, a savoury snack or a sandwich.
Liesa bans coolers, glass bottles, cans, bags (sacolas), plastic bags, weapons, sharp objects, flares and fireworks. Gates open at 7 PM.
- Ages: no children under 5, a rule from the Rio juvenile court since 2015. Staff can ask for a birth certificate.
- Teenagers: under-16s need a responsible adult.
- Documents: a passport or ID, which the packages ask for too.

Are there accessible places at the Sambódromo?
Yes. Liesa lists 300 free places by sector 13, 12 places by sector 10 and marked wheelchair spaces on the first step of sectors 2, 4, 6 and 8.
The 300 places by the Praça da Apoteose are free, each with a companion, and are handed out by the association for people with disabilities, Riotur and City Hall. The 12 places by sector 10 are sold, also with a companion. Sectors 2, 4, 6 and 8 each have room for up to 8 wheelchair users on the first step.
